| Why this festivity? According to tradition, which goes back many generations, it is a beginning of something new in which luck and prosperity play the main part. Evil spirits are expelled and all that is good comes back. To welcome the new year full of goodness, fireworks are set off, like strings made of hunderd thousand little parts of firework and wonderful ornamental firework. The Chinese lion- and dragondance also plays an important part here. The dragon is known as a symbol of great descention and power, the lion is a symbol of luck and prosperity. |
